Frequently Asked Questions

Is counselling for me?

Counselling is for anyone who wants a space to explore their thoughts, feeling or what they are going through. I provide a therapeutic space where we can explore together the challenges and struggles of life. By understanding yourself you can improve your wellbeing and understand how to manage your emotions and how to live a happier and healthier life.

How many sessions will I need

This varies from person to person. I offer open ended sessions which means you can have the amount of sessions that feels right for you. Some clients will want to know how many they intend and we can set up that we will have 6, 8, 12 or 20 if that’s how they work where as others may choose to take things as they come, on a week to week.

Can I make a combination of online and face to face

I offer face to face and online. We will arrange at our consultation which is best for you but we can change as your situation changes.

Are you a registered/accredited/qualified Counsellor?

I have achieved the required qualifications (CPCAB Level 4 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling). I am a registered with both the NCPS and BACP. I can evidence this on request. As I am registered with the NCPS I work within their Codes of Ethic. As a BACP approved counsellor I also work within their Ethical Framework.

Is counselling confidential

Yes our sessions are confidential whether they are online or face to face. I take short notes for my benefit which are kept separate from your personal details. I have clinical supervision which is confidential in itself and I do not give my supervisor your personal details.

What if I change my mind about having counselling

Whilst I ask you to sign a contract before commencing counselling this does not obligate you to continue with counselling if it does not feel right for you at this time.

I do ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations, but understand that this may not be possible at times.

Will I be analysed?

I practice person centred counselling which means I meet you where you are. My style is rooted in Carl Rogers theoretical approach which acknowledges that you are the expert on you. I offer a non-judgemental space where as a qualified counsellor I will offer a space where we will explore what is going on for you together.

Is there parking on site

Yes there is parking onsite either behind the building or as you enter the industry area.

Where are you based
