About Me

I am a person-centred counsellor based in Baldock, Hertfordshire, offering a warm, compassionate and understanding approach to therapy. My work focuses on helping people through periods of difficulty, self-development and transformation. I believe that each of us has the ability to grow and heal when we are given the right environment of empathy, trust and acceptance.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 25 years working in social care, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental and physical health challenges. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the wide range of ways people communicate and experience the world. Working closely with neurodivergent individuals taught me to listen beyond words — to recognise emotions expressed through behaviour and silence — and to create a space where every person feels valued and understood.

That background continues to shape my counselling practice today. I bring a gentle, person-centred approach that adapts to each client’s unique way of processing and expressing themselves. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, confidence and a stronger sense of self.

In school settings, I have supported children and young people with autism, ADHD and additional learning needs, helping them explore their emotions, build emotional regulation skills and strengthen self-esteem and resilience.

Alongside this, I work within a hospice setting, supporting clients who are grieving or experiencing loss. Grief can feel like a tidal wave, overwhelming and disorienting. My role is to help clients process these emotions at their own pace, finding meaning and hope while honouring their loss.

I also work extensively with men’s mental health, supporting clients who experience anxiety, anger, stress and depression. Many men find it difficult to open up about their emotions, and I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where they can speak honestly and feel heard. Through therapy, clients often discover new ways to understand their feelings and develop healthier patterns of thought and behaviour.

Whether you are seeking support for neurodiversity, anxiety, low self-esteem or bereavement, I offer counselling in Baldock and across Hertfordshire to help you explore your experiences, build self-understanding and rediscover a sense of balance and possibility.

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you just let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying “soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner”. I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds
